TOMIYASU SAYS HE HAS HIGH HOPES ABOUT ARSENAL’S SEASON

Arsenal’s new defender Takehiru Tomiyasu has revealed that he is getting more settled into life at the Emirates Stadium, despite reports suggesting otherwise. The defender was signed in the summer by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to bolster the club’s defensive ranks and since making his debut in the Premier League, he has shown some promising signs that he could be a star for the club this season and beyond. The need for Arsenal to sign a defender arose after it was confirmed that the would be letting go of Brazilian defender and former Chelsea star David Luiz, who left the club to join the Brazilian Serie A league in the summer transfer window.

Following his arrival at the Emirates Stadium, Tomiyasu revealed during his first interview session that he was looking forward to making his debut and stealing the heart of Arsenal fans by trying to put in strong performances and also trying to impress the manager so he can earn himself a starting role at the club. He has indeed been a decent signing and not only has he been working hard on the training ground, he has also been trying to give his all on the pitch.

His fellow summer signing Ben White has not yet had the best of starts into his fresh Arsenal career and has been struggling with minor I juries since he arrived from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer as well. However, the England international defender will be looking to bounce back stringer and maintain a starting spot in the team.

In a recent interview, Tomiyasu revealed that he is enjoying life at Arsenal and that the club already have a clear goal in mind. He said everyone at the club is looking to take the Gunners back to the Champions League this season.
